One of the most frustrating things about submitting ones work to competitions and anthologies, is the rejection slip with no feedback.

It disheartens emerging writers and crushes their confidence.

Very often, anthologies are inundated with high quality submissions and it comes down to what the editors were partial to on that particular day.

Read this article looking at reasons why a piece of work may be rejected.

Sadly, many of the reasons are within the writers control; including following submission guidelines.

As part of our commitment to “create opportunities for emerging writers in order to foster their creative growth and provide exposure” all pieces of fiction submitted which are not selected for inclusion, will be provided with some brief feedback. This is sent in order for the author to improve or take a learning from their submission experience.
